2011 WALKATHON GUIDELINES

Everyone's welcome to join in the LHK Walkathon on Monday, May 16.
1. The LHK Walkathon will be on Monday, May 16, 2011
(Rain date, Tuesday, May 17)
2. The LHK Walkathon will begin at the Rye Harbor parking lot, off Route 1A, and end at the North Hampton Beach parking lot across from Beach Plum. This is a distance of 4 miles.
3. Participants will walk in a southerly direction on the east side of Route 1A.
4. Participants will be transported back to Rye Harbor by trolley/bus.
5. Participants will meet at Rye Harbor between 3 and 3:45pm.
6. The start will be staggered.
7. Students must walk in an orderly manner, no more than 2 across. Students should use provided walkway and not be in the road.
8. Trolley(s)/bus(es) will be ready to bring students back to Rye Harbor after 4 p.m. Hot dogs and ice cream will be served back at Rye Harbor!
9. For elementary and middle school students there should be at least one adult supervisor for every 10 students.
10. To participate students are required to sign a permission slip. These are attained through our contacts.
11. Upon turning in permission slips, students will be given a pledge form.
12. Prior to the walkathon, students should solicit and collect pledges and fill out the pledge form.
13. Pledge forms and monies will be collected either at Rye Harbor or by coordinating teachers/parents prior to the walkathon.
14. All students should make their own arrangements for transportation home from Rye Harbor.
