About Us

Sue Reynolds founded Lighthouse Kids in 2000.
Lighthouse Kids is a non-profit group operating as Lighthouse Kids Incorporated, a New Hampshire 501-C(3) public charity and an affiliate of the American Lighthouse Foundation. Lighthouse Kids is open to anyone who wishes to help save White Island Lighthouse. Currently our roster of supporters includes Rye Junior High, Winnacunnet High School, and Rye Elementary School, The LHK Board of Directors and interested members of the community. The focus is to save New Hampshire's only offshore lighthouse. Thanks to the efforts of Lighthouse Kids, the 152-year-old White Island Lighthouse is being restored. Also, thank you to all of the supporters who have donated money and time to ensure the success of this project.
Our mission

Time and rough weather have taken their toll.
Lighthouse Kids Incorporated is a group of Seacoast New Hampshire students, alumni, interested members of the community and the organization's Board of Directors.
The mission of Lighthouse Kids is to save and maintain the White Island Lighthouse Station at the Isles of Shoals, through service learning projects and additional volunteer efforts. The Lighthouse Kids' goal is to restore White Island, which is in Rye, N.H., to the greatness it was at in the early 1900s.
We plan to do this by fundraising, raising awareness and creating partnerships with all parties interested in saving and maintaining White Island Light Station.
Lighthouse Kids strives to increase the amount of opportunities the public has to aid the lighthouse and would also like to see public access expanded, enabling all to experience the wonder of the island. We would like to see White Island Station's blessings secured for future generations.
It is our mission to both save and maintain the White Island Station for the benefit of all.
